BT bolsters hosted offering with Cisco Webex

Reacting to the looming 2025 copper switch off and the rising demand for hybrid working, BT Wholesale has added Cisco Webex to its Wholesale Hosted Communications offering to accelerate digital transformation for its channel partners and customers.

BT Wholesale cite that 87% of employees in the UK are expecting more flexibility and choice in working locations, and this means reseller need a solution that will help customers adapt to hybrid working, according to Channel Director, Gavin Jones.

He said: “The pandemic has created a market necessity for collaboration and accelerated digital transformation. It is no longer a bonus; it is an inevitability.

“That is why it is vital that we provide the necessary collaboration tools and services to help our channel partners not only navigate through that change but enable their customers to flourish long after.”

Cisco Webex provides customers video conferencing services and online meetings, instant messaging, screen sharing, and other collaboration tools aimed at enhancing productivity.

Jeff Boslem, Regional Director EMEAR Partner Collaboration Sales at Cisco stated: “With Cisco Webex, companies can maximise their productivity and keep employees connected no matter the location.

“Cisco is committed to enabling seamless collaboration, with security, allowing employees to connect with people inside and outside their company.

Jones also points to the looming copper switch off as a reason that resellers need to have hosted options available for their customers.

He said: “With the 2025 switch off on the horizon, it’s our ambition is to offer the technology and support to best prepare businesses.”

BT Wholesale claim that the suite of collaboration tools is scalable for organisations of all sizes and is underpinned by BT’s 24/7 monitored network.
