Participants from the Street Soccer Academy at the Palace For Life Foundation visited Brighton and Hove Albion’s stadium to meet some of the players, thanks to programme sponsorship from Focus Group.
The group of 25 young adults are currently on a ten-week personal development course centred around football, for 18- to 30-year-olds who are homeless, disadvantaged or deemed to be at risk of homelessness through not being in education, employment or training.
The stadium visit included a presentation on careers in ICT and the chance to ask questions about getting into the industry.
Keith Mabbutt, Founder and CEO of the Street Soccer Foundation, said: “Speaking with the young people on the Street Soccer Academy programme, it was clear the occasion was such a positive and inspiring experience for them.
“This is what The Big Goal campaign is all about, a coming together in support of others through the beautiful game.
Barney Taylor, CEO at Focus Group, added: “We were delighted to be able to bring our partnership with Brighton & Hove Albion together with our support of the Big Goal to give an inspirational group of young people a football-fuelled day to remember.”
