Resellers vying for central government contracts will now have to prove their alignment to social value priorities which will become a key part of assessment.
The social value model evaluates resellers’ efforts in support of Covid-19 recovery, tackling economic inequality, fighting climate change, reducing waste and driving equal opportunity.
Farnborough-based multi-cloud provider UKCloud has already achieved Level 1 of the Social Value Quality Mark.
To attain the mark, companies must show evidence of reducing their carbon footprint, supporting young people with development programmes, helping to grow the UK economy and investing in the wellbeing of its staff, dovetailing with the government’s criteria.
UKCloud’s CEO Simon Hansford said: “The quality mark makes it easier for public sector organisations to meet their obligation to evaluate social value of the services they consume which will support the technology-led recovery of the UK economy post-Covid and post-Brexit.”
UKCloud has a Memorandum of Understanding with Crown Commercial Services as a strategic cloud provider to government and recently achieved the MOD Silver Award for its commitment to building digital skills.
