HPE has strengthened its wireless connectivity proposition for partners through the acquisition of Athonet.
The cellular networking specialist has completed over 450 deployments across transport and logistics, utilities, and government.
According to Tom Craig GM, Communications Technology Group, HPE, the integration provides telcos with an entry into the connected edge market.
He said: “One of the paramount challenges telcos have faced over the years is generating new revenue from their networks. The monetisation of network infrastructure has become increasingly complex as hyperscalers continue to extend their footprint into the telecom space.
“Telcos need to find ways to create value beyond basic data delivery and unlock new revenue-generating services and can achieve this through the emergence of private 5G networks.”
