Prime Minister Theresa May has welcomed Equinix's £90m investment in a new flagship data centre at its London Slough campus.
The move contributes to a total new investment from Equinix in the UK’s digital infrastructure of £295m and reflects growing demand from businesses in the UK looking to digitally transform and connect with the world.
The new data centre, named LD7, is due to open in early 2019 and will bring the company’s UK portfolio to 12 IBXs.
“Equinix’s investment reflects the growing demand for digital financial services in the City of London, and is a vote of confidence in its future as the world’s premier financial hub, said the Prime Minister.
