BGF-backed Celerity acquires Chilli IT

Celerity has acquired Chester-based Chilli IT to take its turnover north of £40m and grow its team to 95.

The deal also strengthens Celerity’s technical expertise and facilitates expansion into new sectors such as logistics and retail.

This is the first deal for Celerity, which secured a £15m investment from BGF in 2021, as it embarks on an acquisition trail to supercharge future growth.

Celerity’s COO Craig Aston, said: “We’ve experienced strong organic growth with our managed services and have been looking for potential acquisitions to support the strategic direction of the business.”

“There’s an excellent synergy between Celerity and Chilli and today’s deal enhances our service offerings while enabling cross-selling opportunities to drive growth through integration.”

Chilli’s team of 17 will maintain their roles and continue to operate from a base in Chester with the brand being retained.

Richard Warren, Chilli Founder, added: “This is a statement of intent for the future and provides significant benefits for our team and clients now Chilli is part of a bigger, entrepreneurial organisation.”
