ICUK's leased line quoting tool now incorporates Openreach EAD (Ethernet Access Direct) point-to-point Ethernet circuits, particularly useful for distances less than 40km; and real-time confirmation of Diverse Plus fibre circuit pricing from BT Wholesale.
"EAD circuits are common connectivity options for many fibre carriers," stated Director Paul Barnett (pictured). "Order a fibre Ethernet circuit and it's likely an Openreach EAD circuit is being used to link a customer site to the nearest exchange.
"They can prove to be the most cost effective solution for short distance point-to-point connections. That's how we're adopting them."
Access to instant quoting via ICUK's quoting tool offers partners pricing details, radial distance information, installation categories and estimated excess construction costs, all shown alongside the wholesale prices.
"Having this data at their finger tips enables partners to make more meaningful decisions when considered alongside other point-to-point alternatives from other carriers," added Barnett.
He also noted that as demand for always-on ultra fast connections continues to rise, ICUK's Diverse Plus solution delivers physical diversity with two independent exit points from a building - with no pinch points within the routing of traffic - to two independent exchanges terminated into diverse ICUK POPs.
"To meet demand we have introduced a quoting feature that prices up such solutions in the same time as a single circuit," said Barnett.
"The thought processes behind these additions doesn't just cover the initial quoting, it flows through to order, delivery and post-live management."
