The Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP) has begun the year by awarding active member Paul O’Brien Fellowship of the Institute status.
O’Brien has over 30 years’ experience in industrial R&D, digital transformation and telecommunications. He has held various roles including, software development, applied research, technology venturing, chairing standards committees, and IP management.
For the last decade, Paul has been a Director of Research at BT Labs, currently focusing on next generation cyber-security, automating network planning and operations, sustainable resource management, and enterprise AI -readiness.
O’Brien has been a member of the ITP Board and a member of the ITP Journal Editorial Board since 2017.
He is also a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at the School of Computing at Ulster University.
