Polycom embraces knowledge sharing with Hug appointment

Polycom's promotion of Andrew Hug to Area Sales Vice President, Systems Engineers for EMEA and APAC, aims to build a communication bridge between customers and the Polycom engineering team.

The new role is expected to catalyse more fluid cross-company technical knowledge sharing and optimise the company's UC solutions.

Hug reports to Marco Landi, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, Africa and Europe.

Hug was previously responsible for Polycom's technical sales consulting and demonstration facilities group across EMEA.

He previously had a hand in establishing Polycom's technical sales consulting operations in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Hug joined Polycom in 2001 from Accord where he was Support Director for EMEA and Asia responsible for both pre- and post-sales support.

Landi said: "The industry is at the cusp of a digital revolution and a part of the challenge is to also identify the best practices that enable the two regions to work in coherence.

"Having a strong industry veteran like Andrew means that we can provide a more strategic technology insight to our customers, as well as our partners in the region."
