Zen Internet's channel event gets the thumbs up

An event staged by Zen Internet rewarded the ISP's top performing partners and introduced new market opportunities based on the firm's networking portfolio.

A number of Zen's key partners attended the event which was held at The Custard Factory, Birmingham. The aim was to help partners understand how to make the most of Zen's portfolio of products and services, as well as discussing trends in the marketplace and networking sessions.

The day concluded with the inaugural Zen Partner awards, presented by Andrew Saunders, Zen's Head of Product Management and Marketing and Steve Warburton, Zen's Sales Director.

Winners included:
• Solution Sales Partner of the Year 2010 won by TSG
• Reseller Partner of the Year 2010 won by Novosco
• Wholesale Partner of the Year 2010 won by Nexus Telecommunications
• New Partner of the Year 2010 won by NAC Networkz
• Rising Star 2010 won by NOA(UK)

Paul Burns, Project Director, Mac Systems commented: "I was reinvigorated and enthused to understand the developments at Zen and how we can look to incorporate some or all of the products into our portfolio of services.

"Today's market is all about connectivity and once you have that to a client it is about added value services."

Guest Speakers were Luv Duggal from Attix5, developers of data protection software, and Matt Townend of Illume Consulting who offered practical advice and research in the rapidly changing telecoms, technology and media markets.

"The day was a real success. It was a great opportunity to meet with our partners and work with them to develop mutually beneficial relationships and identify opportunities to grow their business, focusing on elements of the Zen portfolio that complement their business strategy," said Saunders. "It was also a pleasure to award our partners for their continued support and contribution to the business. We are already looking forward to future events."

On the day Partners learnt how they can take advantage of Network Convergence opportunities using Zen's connectivity portfolio including MPLS based IP VPN solutions and discover how Zen's hosting portfolio can enable them to offer cloud computing solutions.

The Zen team also went through the Fibre Optic Broadband rollout 2010-2015 and Zen's plans for the future.

"News of the FTTC/FTTP will prove useful for the future to up-sell to customers already using Zen and to increase customer base where this service is available," said Julie Jones, Business Development Manager, Active Voice & Data.
