Education and advising businesses on the upcoming PSTN and ISDN switch off should be a priority for resellers, as fewer than one-fifth of UK companies understand the full implications of the dawning deadline.
This comes from a National Business Communications (NBC) survey which found that 59.7% of UK businesses still do not know what the switch off entails and only 19.4% of respondents were completely aware of the term’s significance.
NBC found that people are still relying on legacy tech with 70% claiming their business is still using a landline.
The survey concluded: “Although the switch off isn’t happening until 2025, businesses must begin making the switch as soon as possible, giving them time to get used to a new procedure and iron out anything they may come across to ensure it all runs smoothly.
“Our survey tells us many businesses aren’t prepared and many may not know how to prepare due to their lack of understanding.”
