BT has installed Tom Meakin, a Senior Partner from McKinsey, to lead its new strategy unit and join its executive committee, according to a report by the Financial Times.
He will hold the title of Chief Strategy and Change Officer on a temporary basis whilst BT searches for a permanent appointment.
FT attributes this information to an internal BT memo announcing the creation of the new unit that will “drive the refresh of BT Group’s corporate strategy” and “define the next phase of transformation.”
It will bring together BT’s Corporate Strategy and Development Team and its Transformation and Assurance team.
The memo from CEO Allison Kirkby reads: “Tom will be working closely with myself and the ExCo to design the broader unit and make sure the accountabilities for both strategy and major change are in the right place, so we’re set up well to deliver across the company.”
