Microsoft Azure does not have the capacity to take on new UK customers due to a growing demand for cloud computing.
A message from Microsoft to MSP QuoStar, which tried to purchase new Azure products, read: “Unfortunately, due to high demand in this region (UK South), we are not able to approve your request at this time." This email was published in the Telegraph.
According to a spokesperson at Microsoft, the organisation is struggling to expand capacity due to a global microchip shortage and its commitments to hosting IT systems for the Ukrainian government.
The spokesperson told the Telegraph: “We’ve taken steps to address customer increases in capacity while also expediting server deployment in our datacentres.”
The company will offer bi-monthly updates on where services will be available in the future.
