Gamma's play in the UC market has received a major boost following its acquisition of EnableX, which is made up from three channel businesses... Pragma, Techland and Candio.
EnableX is best known for providing resellers with products and services around multiple technology areas, including cloud communications where it is a key provider to the UK wholesale channel.
Gamma Business MD Daryl Pile (pictured above) stated: "This acquisition significantly expands our channel portfolio, providing greater opportunities for partners to accelerate their growth, in particular through EnableX's partnership with one of the leading business communications vendors, Ericsson-LG Enterprise."
EnableX CEO Will Morey commented: “It is clear how the portfolio we have fits into Gamma’s strategy for growth in the UCaaS space. Bringing these businesses together will help us both deliver additional value to the channel."
Ericsson-LG Enterprise CEO Patrick Johansson added: "Our journey in the UK market with the iPECS Unified Communications portfolio has been a success and we are looking forward to continuing that success in partnership with Gamma.”
Megabuyte Chief Analyst Philip Carse noted: "This acquisition ticks the small but strategic box, boosting Gamma’s EBITDA by up to 2% but also adding an alternative UC platform to Horizon – and adding Ericsson to Cisco, Microsoft and AWS as key technology partners – as well as some interesting new channel focused services that can be better leveraged through Gamma’s much larger (10x) partner base.
"Valuation will be revealed in due course, though we suspect Gamma, although cash rich (£120m net cash at June 2023, probably higher now) would not have wanted to pay much above its own 8.2x 2023 and 7.7x 2024 EBITDA valuation."
