TalkTalk has confirmed that it has acquired the UK broadband base from Shell Energy.
This base represents 480,000 users, according to reports which began to surface in December 2023.
Octopus acquired Shell Energy Retail UK last year and began looking for an ISP to acquire its broadband base.
TalkTalk’s statement reads: “Further to reports, TalkTalk confirms that a vehicle controlled by TalkTalk’s major shareholders has acquired Shell Energy’s UK broadband customer base from Octopus Energy.
“Shell Energy Broadband has been a longstanding wholesale customer of TalkTalk, with services offered through the company’s national network platform, and that relationship will now continue.”
