Telensa, a provider of end-to-end solutions in the IoT space, has appointed Keith Day to lead its marketing as the company experiences more demand for its Smart Cities IoT solutions.
Day recently led marketing for UK-based small cell pioneer Ubiquisys, which was acquired in 2013 for $310m by Cisco. Subsequently, he led marketing for Cisco's Service Provider Mobility business worldwide.
Telensa has now deployed its Ultra Narrow Band (UNB) long-range, low-power wide-area (LPWA) radio technology in nine million devices, most recently with the rollout of a Smart City system in Asia.
The technology is deployed in 30 countries around the world including the US, UK, Brazil, Australia, China and Russia, enabling a range of applications such as smart lighting, smart parking and device tracking.
Day said: "In a market that's often short on practical details, Telensa is deploying real solutions at massive scale, and in doing so has laid down a marker for the practical evolution of IoT."
Will Gibson, CEO of Telensa, added: "We're building the future of IoT, and our deployment momentum in smart lighting and smart parking shows that we are on the right track."
