IoT can be a keystone for facilities managers looking to make environmental compliance easier and cheaper, according to Matthew Margetts, Director of Sales and Marketing at asset control specialist Smarter Technologies.
Margetts cites several practical applications for IoT such as measuring air pollution and reducing carbon emissions.
“No matter the industry, there are several examples of IoT applications helping to reduce carbon footprints and improve energy and operational efficiencies along with profitability,” he said.
Margetts also lists energy efficiency and waste management as functions that can be enhanced using IoT solutions.
“IoT technologies have revolutionised the ways that businesses work by demonstrating compliance within environmental legislation and obligations. By making such smart choices now, facilities managers can make their operations more efficient and ensure long-term sustainable success,” he added.
