CityFibre has appointed Allan McEwan as Development Manager for Aberdeen following a £40m investment in the roll out of full fibre connectivity to nearly every home and business in the city.
The Granite City will be the first in Scotland to benefit from the strategic partnership between CityFibre and Vodafone, with full fibre set to reach one million homes and businesses across the UK by 2021.
McEwan will be a local point of contact for all city stakeholders.
He previously served as Senior Business Development Manager within Petrofac, a service provider to the oil and gas production and processing industry.
CityFibre is also in the process of recruiting various operations staff to support the roll out and will move into larger office space at Charter House (formerly Marathon House) in Aberdeen's West End in the next few months.
McEwan said: "I want to ensure that everyone across the city is aware of the potential benefits of full fibre connectivity, not only to businesses but also to residents. I will be working closely with Aberdeen City Council and developing additional opportunities."
