The appointment of CityFibre's Head of Regulation Alex Blowers as Chair of the Independent Networks Cooperative Association (INCA) is expected to boost the industry body's influence and also marks CityFibre's return to INCA.
"INCA members are set to play a major role in achieving the Government’s ambitious targets for national coverage of gigabit-capable networks by the end of the decade," said Blowers.
“The interests of all altnets, including CityFibre, are becoming increasingly aligned and I will help to strengthen our collective voice."
Rob Leenderts, INCA’s former Chair and a member of the selection panel, added: "INCA aims to play a major role in influencing the Government’s targets for national coverage of gigabit-capable networks by the end of the decade.
“We anticipate a significant boosting of INCA’s capabilities to influence policy both with Government and Ofcom."
