Virgin Media O2 has connected an additional 6,100 homes to its Tyne and Wear to its gigabit network, as part of its £84m investment in the north east.
The company has committed to invest at least £10bn over the next 5 years in the UK.
Rob Evans, MD of Fixed Network Expansion at Virgin Media O2, said: “Tyne and Wear is the latest area to benefit from speeds that allow residents to do more of what they want online, quicker than ever before.”
