HSBC office reduction a sign of the times, says Maintel

HSBC cutting office space by 40% is further proof that CTOs must prepare their companies for a future dominated by hybrid working, according to Rufus Grig, Maintel Chief Strategy Officer.

“It seems we have gone past a point of no return but as companies switch to a new hybrid way of working, new challenges will arise,” said Grig.

“It won’t be a case of simply making do and integrating new technology. Staff will need to be backed by enterprise-grade technology, connectivity and security, regardless of location.”

Grig added: “With a pathway now set out of lockdown, and hybrid working set to stay for the long-term future, CTOs must start their strategic planning urgently.”

Recent LARATO research commissioned by Daisy Corporate Services found that 85% of organisations across 350 UK business expected up to half of their employees to continue to work from home over the next year.
