Avaya's President and CEO Alan Masarek is to retire at the end of the year and current Chair of the Board of Directors, Patrick Dennis (pictured), will assume the role of CEO on 1st September.
Dennis brings 30 years experience and has a track record of leadership in enterprise software, SaaS, cybersecurity and communications.
He is currently CEO of Venafi, a cybersecurity company in the process of being acquired by CyberArk. Prior to Venafi he was the CEO of ExtraHop and CEO of Aspect Communications.
Dennis stated: “Avaya is now operating from a position of financial strength and our strategy is resonating with customers around the world.”
He became Chair of the Avaya Board as the company emerged from its recapitalisation in May 2023 and worked closely with Masarek and the leadership team on developing the vendor's strategy and growth plans.
Masarek commented: “Two years ago, I came out of retirement to help lead Avaya. While there is more to do, Avaya’s new position of strength combined with Patrick’s ability to lead the company creates an opportunity for me to return to retirement.”
In the past two years Avaya actioned a strategic reset of its customer value proposition as well as completing the recapitalisation.
