The tragic suicide of Fusion Voice & Data Director Nick Dutfield spurred close friend José Sanchez to get on his bike and raise money for new ICT charity Mental Health Associates (MHA).
“Nick was a great friend and his death was a sad loss and a shock to us all," said Sanchez. "He was suffering from mental health issues and I wanted to raise money for MHA, so I set out to ride 127 miles from Flitwick in Bedfordshire to Overstrand near Cromer.
“My message to all reading this is speak to someone today, someone you haven’t spoken to in a while or a friend, colleague, parent and ask them how they are. My heart felt prayers go out to Lisa, Molly and Charlie, Nick’s family, at this difficult time.”
MHA CEO Peter Orr said: “A huge thank you to Jose for his fundraising efforts and to all of those who sponsored him. This has given the charity a great start. We now have seven Associates funded to complete mental health awareness training and our helpline service is up and running. What a great start.”
