ANS Group employees have raised £3,200 to help a Manchester Children’s Hospital charity get off the ground.
Staff raised funds for the hospital’s helipad project by taking part in a dragon boat race and the charity’s ‘Many Hands’ competition, which challenged business to find the most innovative way to raise funds for the project.
The helipad will allow the hospital to save many more lives and increase the chances of a full recovery for seriously injured patients by reducing the time it takes to reach specialist centres.
ANS Group CEO Paul Shannon said: “This is a huge achievement for everyone at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. We hope to see the helipad in use soon and making a difference to those who need it.”
The £3.9m helicopter landing site is expected to be taking flights by the end of March.
