Service providers in Sunderland can expect a greater adoption in digital services following a link-up between BAI Communications and Sunderland City Council.
BAI will be launching a Smart City project with network software provider Mavenir. The duo will deploy a city centre 5G private network which has the potential to evolve and become a neutral host network.
Brendan O’Reilly, Group CTO at BAI, said: “We hope working with Mavenir to deploy open Ran and 5G Core will help accelerate Sunderland’s ambitions to become one of the UK’s most advanced smart cities, connecting people, communities and businesses.”
