Nimans unlocks security opportunities

Access control, CCTV and intruder solutions will come to the fore this year with body worn cameras, smart buildings and low light colour imaging among the hottest trends, predicts Nimans' Director of Sales for Security and AV Camilla Kirkham.

She also highlighted thermal and AI as growth areas in a market that she says will double in value over the next five years.

"These IP-based technologies are a natural extension of a reseller’s portfolio and represent an easy expansion of their overall proposition," stated Kirkham.

“Data cabling companies in particular are leading the charge. They are doing all the hard work with the installations anyway so adding a camera end point is valuable additional revenue.

"This year will see further developments with body worn cameras, colour imaging at night and also smarter and more integrated buildings.”

Nimans launched its security division in autumn last year and the market response has 'exceeded expectations', she noted.

To give resellers a head start in CCTV and security sales Nimans has rolled out a series of training courses running from the end of March until early May at its Manchester HQ.

“Training is available for beginners through to more advanced professionals," added Kirkham.

"There’s still lots of work to be done but resellers are beginning to fully understand and embrace the market potential.

“We’ve got some big plans for 2020 especially around training and accreditation.”
