Virgin Media Business partners with Versa Networks

Virgin Media Business is set to offer its enterprise customers new SD-WAN services following a partnership with Versa Networks, a provider of software-based networking and security solutions.

SD-WANs can be used to connect enterprise networks - including multiple dispersed sites and data centres - with more open and flexible hardware than traditional WAN solutions.

The network is instead controlled using cloud-native software.

Under the new partnership, Virgin Media Business will use Versa Network's Cloud IP platform to provide fully managed secure SD-WAN services.

The multi-tenant software platform is expected to enhance network performance and will provide Virgin Media Business customers with an automated and application intelligence service deigned to improve their cloud and application connectivity and experience.

Peter Kelly, Managing Director of Virgin Media Business, said: "Our partnership will put the cloud at the heart of our enterprise network and allow us to offer customers a service that gives them greater agility, flexibility and control over how they design and manage their corporate network."

"SD-WAN is turning corporate IT on its head, enabling IT to respond to the business needs rather than the business responding to what the IT can deliver."
