The communications buyer is now more important than the IT manager in the new Cloud world. That’s the view of Dominic Black, Director of Research at ICT analyst The Cavell Group.
Speaking at the 2021 Wildix online UC & C Summit, Black said: “Communications is now a business-critical service. The communications buyer is now one of the most important people in a business. It used to be the IT manager but that is no longer is that the case. It’s now a C-level decision on how a business is going to communicate better and that's great for our industry.
“On top of this, the Cloud is now the de facto option for most businesses moving forward. And if you can't meet those new requirements around cloud and video, you're not going to be in this discussion for the long run,” added Black.
