Connexin scoops IoT Breakthrough award

A smart road pilot in Newcastle developed by Connexin has been hailed for its innovation and recognised by an IoT Breakthrough award for Smart City Deployment of the Year.

This year’s awards scheme attracted more than 3,500 global nominations covering a range of categories including industrial and enterprise IoT, smart city, connected home, home automation and connected car.

Connexin CEO and founder Furqan Alamgir stated: “Smart technologies have now come of age, but the truth is no single organisation can make smart cities happen on its own.

"Governments, businesses, the education sector and citizens need to work together to grasp the opportunity. The sum is way greater than the individual parts. This project is a perfect demonstration of all the parts working together.”
