Softcat's strategy to optimise cloud platforms has advanced following a link up with multi-cloud management firm CloudHealth which provides deeper insights into public cloud spend, usage and efficiency.
"Many organisations are adopting public cloud to be more agile, more flexible and to drive down costs," said Softcat MD Colin Brown.
"However, some organisations are finding that their lack of experience operating in a public cloud environment leads to a lack of control over the services consumed resulting in costs that are far higher than predicted.
"And they are unable to determine where they can make changes within their environment to reduce these rising costs. In some cases, this has even led to businesses moving their IT infrastructure back on-premise.
"Softcat’s Cloud Intelligence Service addresses this challenge by generating automated reports on all of an organisation’s public cloud usage."
